A Downtown Charleston Engagement Styled Shoot

There is just something about Charleston that never gets old for me. My husband and I like to visit a few times a year. Between the incredible food, historic charm, and picturesque streets, it’s a place that always inspires me. Being able to attend Hybrid Co. there was an incredible experience.

One evening, photographer Clay Austin led a group of us on a stroll through downtown to explore beautiful, photogenic spots in the city. Charleston has an endless supply of them. Brick-lined streets draped in mossy trees and historic homes with tons of character.

Part of our experience was getting to photograph this wonderful couple who had been together for 20 years. I loved hearing the story of how they met. That’s one of my favorite things about getting to know a couple. I always feel like I’m watching a romantic comedy, hearing the excitement in your voices as you tell me the story. With 20 years of being together for this couple, capturing their connection was so natural and effortless.

I hope to have many more sessions in Charleston as I would love to add it to the list of cities I regularly serve. Every visit leaves me discovering something new and I love how perfect the setting is to help tell someone’s story.
